The Buffalo Bills open the 2021 NFL season with a matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers in what should be a great contest between two of the AFC’s top teams. The Bills are coming off their first AFC East Division championship in 25 years, while the Steelers are looking to extend their streak of playing at least .500 ball to fifteen consecutive seasons, or the duration of head coach Mike Tomlin’s tenure with the club.
The Bills are without defensive tackle Star Lotulelei, whose calf injury makes him the only player scratched from the lineup for either team due to injury. Buffalo also has deactivated running back Zack Moss for the game, leaving newcomer Matt Breida to serve as the lightning to Devin Singletary’s thunder.
This will be the first time since the AFC Championship Game that we see Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs together, as the dynamic duo did not play a snap together during any preseason games. Buffalo will try to extend its winning streak over the Steelers to three games.
