Opening Day Disappointment

Did the Bills overdose on the hype? Did they just lay an egg? Time will tell.

If I were younger, I'd be alternately furious and heartbroken. At my old age, I'm just glad it's over.

Josh was off today. No doubt about it. He wasn't 2018 terrible, but he let some throws get away. Not good.

You can't blame this loss on the defense. True, Big Ben exploited the weaknesses of our 2 and 3 CBs, but the defense held up most of the day. You can't let the Steelers start mid-field too often before it comes back to bite you.

You can't judge a man by one game, but I think we can hold off on the "Daboll will be a head coach" talk. Too many cutesie trick plays. That throw 5 yards behind the line on the 4th and 1 was a disgrace. Ditto the attempted McKenzie sweep. That stuff will work on some teams, not the Steelers. That was some frustrating stuff. Punting on 4th and 2 or whatever and then going for it on 4th and 8? That was probably McDermott's call, but still dumb.

Oh Devin, what shall become of you? Hold on to the ball! Step out of bounds! Cut the crud.

Blocked punt for a TD second year in a row. Sigh.

Our beloved Bills squandered a crud load of chances in that game. Should have put it away by the end of the first half. Hopefully it's a wake up call. You're not as awesome as you think you are.

Hey Rumblers, it's cool. Long season ahead. Let's hope they learn from this debacle and squish the fish next week!!!!!

GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!
