The Buffalo Bills take on the Miami Dolphins today in search of their first win of the 2021 NFL season. After dropping their season opener in disappointing fashion, blowing a 10-0 halftime lead to the Pittsburgh Steelers on their way to a 23-16 loss, the Bills need to rebound. The Dolphins are looking to start 2-0 with a 2-0 record in the division after eking out a 17-16 win over the New England Patriots last week.
Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen has been a one-man wrecking crew against Miami, throwing 17 touchdowns against only four interceptions in six career games against the Dolphins. Five of those six games have ended in Buffalo victories. For the Dolphins, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa looks to rebound after struggling in his first game against the Bills, a contest that ended in a 56-26 Buffalo win in Week 17 of the 2020 season. Tagovailoa completed 60 percent of his passes in that contest for 361 yards and a touchdown, but it took him 58 attempts to gain that yardage. He also threw three interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown.
With rain and downright oppressive humidity likely today, both teams will need to be wary of cramping and other muscle issues. Footing could be a factor, as well, as the Miami Hurricanes played a home game at Hard Rock Stadium just yesterday.
