Buffalo Bills injury list got much shorter Wednesday

Matt Warren is Associate Director of NFL coverage for SB Nation and previously covered the Bills for Buffalo Rumblings for more than a decade.

Following their game against the Green Bay Packers, the Buffalo Bills had a long list of injuries. When they returned to their first public practice on Wednesday, the news was very, very good.

Wide receiver Marquez Stevenson was sent to injured reserve with his head injury, but was also likely still a bit banged up with his foot/ankle injury. He is out a minimum of three weeks.

The positive news was almost everywhere else. Cornerback Levi Wallace, DT Harrison Phillips, TE Tommy Sweeney, and OT Spencer Brown were all back in the lineup. Cornerback Taron Johnson, CB Dane Jackson, and WR Isaiah McKenzie were all wearing red non-contact jerseys but practiced.

Defensive end Jerry Hughes (rest) and FS Jaquan Johnson (knee) were not participating but were in attendance. Free safety Micah Hyde (personal reasons) and DT Star Lotulelei (calf) were not at practice.

General manager Brandon Beane wouldn’t rule out any players for the opener when talking with the media Wednesday.
