After two weeks of bad to mediocre offense, Brian Daboll’s until finally lived up to the offseason expectations placed on them. They racked up 43 points and 481 yards against the Washington Football Team in an easy win. No one was more impressive than the leader of the offense, Josh Allen.
Sunday’s victory was the fifth game of Allen’s career where he has thrown for more than 300 yards and four touchdowns. Per Buffalo Bills PR and Elias Sports Bureau, he joins a short list of just four other quarterbacks who have five or more games with 300+ passing yards and four touchdowns in their first four NFL seasons. The other quarterbacks are Dan Marino, Kurt Warner, Andrew Luck, and Patrick Mahomes.
His stats from Sunday are even rarer than that club suggests. He finished the game with 358 yards, four passing touchdowns, one rushing touchdown, zero sacks, and a 74.42% completion percentage. It was just the fifth game in NFL history where a quarterback has had 350+ passing yards, 4+ passing touchdowns, 1+ rushing touchdown, a completion percentage over 70%, and 0 sacks. The quarterbacks in other four games were Patrick Mahomes, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and Fitzmagic himself—Ryan Fitzpatrick. Three of the greatest QBs in league history, and Tom Brady.
