Buffalo Bills protect four practice squaders before Week 1

The Buffalo Bills have protected their four practice squad players for Week 1. These players are on the practice squad but can’t be signed by another team until Tuesday, September 14th.

This week the team protected seventh-round pick OG Jack Anderson, DT Brandin Bryant, OG Jamil Douglas, and CB Cam Lewis.

Lewis appeared in five games for the Bills a year ago as a practice squad call up. He never signed to the 53-man roster but was elevated several times. He is important because the Bills were banged up at cornerback and only have five on their roster. Bryant appeared in one game for the Bills a year ago.

The team has until 4 P.M. the day before the game to elevate any two members of their practice squad to the active roster plus they can elevate one player for every player on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. Buffalo currently does not have any players on that list.
