Buffalo Rumblings Weekend Chat: Bye week Sunday plans?

Seven hours of commercial-free football or something else?

NFL: Super Bowl LII Opening Night Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports
Matt Warren is Associate Director of NFL coverage for SB Nation and previously covered the Bills for Buffalo Rumblings for more than a decade.

When I took this new full-time job with SB Nation and Vox Media in September 2022, the first thing I did was sign up for cable so I could get NFL Network and the various channels I needed to watch all the games. That included signing up for NFL RedZone for the first time.

It’s almost too good.

“Seven hours of commercial-free football” isn’t just a catchphrase. It’s life on some Sundays. “Octobox” and other new words entered my lexicon. It made it harder to use the bathroom and make sure I ate the food I like on game days. It’s so difficult to find a space to leave because there aren’t commercials and there isn’t a pause button if you’re on Twitter or chatting with friends in real time. It’s relentless.

I love it.

This Sunday, Bills QB Josh Allen and a lot of us will sink into the couch for some football on the Bills bye week. Here are the rooting interests that matter to the Bills.

What are your plans? Hanging holiday lights or decorating the house? Going shopping? Just getting away from football for a few days? Hit us up in the comments section.

We’re continuing to dust off an old favorite this week as we get further into the 2023 NFL season. We used to run open threads around TV shows like LOST and just general Friday night open threads. Let’s quote the OG Brian Galliford:

Welcome to the weekend, Buffalo Bills fans. We’ve got a couple more days before the Bills take the field, and after a long week, it’s time to blow off a little steam. Use this thread to talk about... well, whatever it is you’d like to talk about. Maybe you’d like to share a cool story from your week. I know I do!
