Bills vs. Cowboys: Game pick, prop bets/SGP

Check out JSpenceTheKing’s DraftKings Sportsbook prop bets ahead of Bills vs. Cowboys in Week 15

With the Dallas Cowboys (10-3) in Orchard Park, NY to take on the Buffalo Bills (7-6) in what could be a potentially sloppy-weather game featuring plenty of rain, there’s a lot of excitement and anticipation surrounding this Week 15 matchup.

At DraftKings Sportsbook, the spread opened at -1.5 in favor of the Bills and has since moved to -2. The over/under started at 48.5 and moved to 49, while the Moneyline was initially -125 for Buffalo and +105 for Dallas — but has since moved to -130 for Buffalo and +110 for Dallas. These changes in odds could be due to various factors such as injuries, public betting trends, or changes in the weather forecast. Bookmakers are constantly adjusting the odds to ensure they have an equal amount of money wagered on both sides, therefore minimizing their own risk.

The Bills are coming off a huge win against the Kansas City Chiefs and are riding high with confidence. With the pressure on to secure a playoff spot, today’s game another must-win situation for Buffalo.

The Cowboys boast one of the most potent offenses in the league, led by quarterback Dak Prescott, the current NFL leader in touchdown passes. His connection with wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is near automatic, and Dallas’ offense is stacked with talent at various positions. On the defensive side, the Cowboys are equally formidable, with the ability to make game-changing plays and force turnovers. Quarterback Josh Allen will need to be sharp and protect the football to avoid giving Dallas any opportunities to capitalize on mistakes.

Despite the offensive challenges presented by the Cowboys, I see the Bills winning today’s game. The Bills have been buoyed by their recent performances, and their resolute determination to make the playoffs should be enough for another week of drama and excitement at One Bills Drive. A win today could also propel Allen more meaningfully into the MVP conversation.

Game prediction: 28-24, Bills over Cowboys

For this week’s Bills-Cowboys matchup, here are a few prop bets I’ve placed with our friends over at DraftKings Sportsbook:

Josh Allen MVP 23/24 (+1800)

This might come as a surprise, but stats alone aren’t enough to put a player at the top of the MVP conversation. The Bills come into this game 7-6, but Allen has looked like a machine. He leads the league in total touchdowns (35) and total yards (3,714), but currently has the seventh-best odds for the NFL MVP award. If Buffalo wins today, those +1800 odds will drop dramatically — and you’ll be kicking yourself for missing out on the opportunity to invest in your guy when the time was right.

James Cook Over 25 Receiving Yards (+100)

James Cook is having an amazing year and the Bills have their back of the future today. He’s elusive and quick, but he’s also a dual threat whose play has translated into big gains and points for the Bills out of the backfield. I look for a strong performance by Cook and the offense in the run game, but also expect for interim offensive coordinator Joe Brady to mix things up with Cook in the passing game.

Josh Allen Rushing Yards 40+ (+100)

The weather forecast isn’t favorable for those who enjoy dry football games, and I believe that favors Buffalo. Rain alone hasn’t been an issue for Allen throwing the ball — in fact he’s been pretty sharp when facing the elements. Today’s rain could also convince Joe Brady to run his Mack truck of a quarterback as often as he’d like in a must-win game.

Each Team To Score 1+ TD In Each Half (+105)

These are two of the top three offenses in football. Both teams will score, so this is a pretty simple bet for me to place. I expect both Allen and Prescott to make something happen in both halves of the game. I’m hoping for a classic showdown in OP. Look for fireworks offensively, and plenty of them.

Prop bets, short for “proposition bets,” are specific wagers made on various events or occurrences within a football game that do not necessarily relate to the final outcome or score. These bets are commonly offered during major football events like the Super Bowl. Prop bets can span a wide range of categories, from player performance and statistics to specific in-game incidents or even elements unrelated to the actual gameplay itself.

If you were to stack these bets for a parlay, your odds would increase to +575.

A parlay is a type of wager where bettors combine two or more individual bets into one larger bet. In order to win a parlay bet, all of the individual bets within the parlay must win. The potential payout for a parlay bet is often higher than if the bets were placed individually, but the risk is also greater since all of the bets must win in order to receive any payout.

As for +575 odds, this is a specific type of odds commonly used in sports betting. When the odds are listed as +575, it means that a bet on that outcome would result in a potential payout of $575 for every $100 wagered. In other words, the bettor would receive $675 if the bet is won (the initial $100 wager, plus the $575 in winnings). In general, the higher the odds, the greater the potential payout, but also the lower the likelihood of the outcome occurring.

We kindly request and encourage all individuals to engage in responsible betting practices. While betting can be a fun and exciting activity, it is crucial to approach it with caution and moderation. Remember to set limits for yourself and stick to them. Only wager an amount of money that you are comfortable losing and never go beyond your means. Additionally, ensure that betting remains a form of entertainment, rather than a means to solve financial or personal problems. Always keep in mind that there are risks involved, so it is essential to bet responsibly for your own well-being.
