It’s been a head-scratching season for Bills Mafia, seemingly taken on an endless up-and-down journey of postseason hope.
Essentially , it’s do-or-die at this point for the Buffalo Bills. Positioned firmly in second place in the AFC East, Buffalo can ill-afford another loss. Yes, even against an NFC opponent. It’s possible that winning out to finish 11-6 may still require the Bills getting a massive amount of help elsewhere to qualify for postseason play.
I explain to those who ask me about the team’s prospects the remainder of this season that the Buffalo Bills really can’t lose a game until next preseason if they hope to reach their 2023 goals. That’s going to be a massive challenge for a team too often unable to sustain a consecutive win streak. To finish 11-6, the Bills need to win their final five games... which includes contests against the Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, and Miami Dolphins. Should that happen, — and we consider that Buffalo finds all the help it needs and wins the AFC East — then the Bills would host a Wild Card game. Win that and then it’s back on the road for the Divisional Round, before what would likely be another road game as Divisional Round winners facing a higher-seed opponent for the AFC Championship. It’s not going to be easy. Despite that, Bills fans understand that rarely do things come easy for their favorite team even when the odds are in their favor.
But what about Vegas? Not the Las Vegas Raiders, of course — oddsmakers, rather. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Bills are tied (with the Houston Texans) for the ninth-best odds (+5000) to reach Super Bowl LVIII next February. That’s not great, certainly. But when you consider all the press the Houston Texans have received, those odds take on a different meaning for me.
As for other futures aside from this season’s Super Bowl finale — our Buffalo Rumblings Tallysight page has the latest odds for the Bills:
- The Buffalo Bills are currently +355 to finish as the 2023-24 AFC East Division Winner, per DraftKings Sportsbook.
- The Bills’ odds to be crowned this season’s AFC Championship Winner are currently at +810 — again, per DraftKings Sportsbook.
If the postseason began today, the Bills wouldn’t even be included in the seven-team playoff bracket. So while each of these odds suggest there’s a chance anything could happen, it’s probably too soon to buy your game tickets when there’s little more guaranteed than a heart full of excitement and hope.
That said, it’s not too late to get in on the game-within-the-game action before Buffalo’s chips are all in on the season. Just be sure to approach any bet with a level head and gamble within your means. It’s just football, at the end of the day — a game so often decided by luck.
We kindly request and encourage all individuals to engage in responsible betting practices. While betting can be a fun and exciting activity, it is crucial to approach it with caution and moderation. Remember to set limits for yourself and stick to them. Only wager an amount of money that you are comfortable losing and never go beyond your means. Additionally, ensure that betting remains a form of entertainment, rather than a means to solve financial or personal problems. Always keep in mind that there are risks involved, so it is essential to bet responsibly for your own well-being.
