DraftKings Sportsbook Pregame Rumblings with JSpenceTheKing: Bills vs. Patriots

It’s Bills vs. Patriots for your New Year’s Eve appetizer!

The New England Patriots (4-11) are coming to Orchard Park, NY to take on the Buffalo Bills (9-6) as the season winds down and we head to the playoffs. The Bills are looking to win and hopefully clinch a playoff spot with a little bit of help around the league. The Patriots are looking to end their season on a high note and send head coach Bill Belichick off with some wins.

The Week 16 game against the Los Angeles Chargers last weekend showed that the Bills are a strong team that’s capable of controlling the time of possession and dominating the line of scrimmage. Even though the game was close, the Bills managed to pull off a 24-22 win, which has given fans hope for their playoff chances. Players like James Cook and Gabriel Davis showed great performances, and the defense has also proven to be a force to be reckoned with.

Defensively, the Bills have found what works best for them. The midseason trade for cornerback Rasul Douglas and the decision to use safety Jordan Poyer as a hybrid safety/linebacker have significantly improved the team’s defense. The Bills have figured out how to suffocate the opposition’s best offensive weapon while also generating turnovers and big plays. This solid defense gives the Bills an edge in their upcoming game against the Patriots.

The Patriots have been struggling offensively and have made changes at the quarterback position, benching Mac Jones in favor of Bailey Zappe. While the offense has shown some improvement, it’s still not strong enough to pose a significant threat. Additionally, the Patriots’ defense is also facing challenges with half of their secondary out due to injuries. These struggles make it seem like the Bills have the upper hand on both sides of the ball in this matchup.

In their previous meeting earlier this season, the Patriots managed to beat the Bills because of bad play calling, turnovers and penalties. However, the circumstances are different this time around. The Bills have found their offensive identity and are better prepared to face their divisional rival. With a well-rounded offense and a strong defense, they are ready to take on the Patriots and stack another win on top of their three game win streak.

Looking ahead to the game, it’s clear that the Bills have the potential to come out on top. Their focused and determined approach, along with their strong offensive and defensive capabilities, sets them up for success. I predict that the Bills will secure a convincing win with a score of 31-9, with a standout performance from Stefon Diggs. I’m looking for multiple scores from 14.
