The Buffalo Bills needed some help over the final month of the season, but it has happened. Week 18’s game against the Miami Dolphins will be for the AFC East Championship and the 2 seed in the conference!

On November 26th, the Bills lost to see their record fall to 6-6. The Dolphins were 8-3 and held a commanding lead in the divisional race. Buffalo has won four straight games to get to 10-6. Miami has gone 3-2 in December to sit at 11-5.

The Bills beat the New England Patriots in Week 17 while the Dolphins could have clinched the division, but lost to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

If the Bills defeat the Dolphin in Week 18, Buffalo will win the division thanks to a season sweep of Miami. If the Dolphins win, they will secure the better overall record and clinch the AFC East.

The Kansas City Chiefs and Jacksonville Jaguars can’t pass the 11-6 Bills or 12-5 Dolphins, so the winner of the game will also nab the 2 seed in the AFC, guaranteeing a second home game if the team wins in Wild Card weekend.

Buffalo has won three straight AFC East titles. Miami can clinch their first division crown since Chad Pennington and Tony Sparano led them to a tiebreaker victory over the New England Patriots for the top spot in 2008.

Buffalo vs Miami will be the far-and-away leader to be flexed to Sunday night as the 272nd game of the NFL season. Both teams will be playing hard with MVP candidates and plenty on the line to keep the game competitive. We will find out later Sunday night.
