The Cincinnati Bengals are in Florida to face the Jacksonville Jaguars in what was initially expected to be a highly anticipated matchup between star quarterbacks Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence. However, the game will now feature Jake Browning starting for the Bengals due to Burrow being placed on season-ending Injured Reserve following wrist surgery. The loss of Burrow has significantly shifted the dynamics of the game, leading to the Jaguars being favored with a spread of -10 at DraftKings Sportsbook.

Browning isn’t necessarily a subpar player, but he lacks the mastery of the offense that Burrow possesses. In his only start this year, Browning had a decent performance with 227 yards on a 73% completion percentage, one touchdown, and an interception. However, his skills aren’t on par with Burrow, and this is reflected in a spread that heavily favors the Jaguars. If Burrow had been healthy, the game might have had a different outlook, possibly even favoring the Bengals.

The Jaguars, with an 8-3 record, are currently at the top of the AFC South and are in good position to maintain their standing following tonight’s outcome. Jacksonville is on a two-game winning streak and are playing their best football of the season. Linebacker Josh Allen has been a standout superstar on the team, making significant plays that have impacted the outcome of games. The Jaguars are well-positioned to put some space between themselves and the Houston Texans, this year’s surprisingly hot team.

Given the way the season has played out and the circumstances of the game, the Bengals just won’t be able to keep up with the Jaguars. Without Burrow, it will be difficult for Cincinnati to generate points to rival Jacksonville’s offense. I’m going with the Jaguars to come out on top, with a final score of 30-13. The power of Jacksonville’s offense coupled with the challenges the Bengals face without Burrow makes a win for the Jaguars seem almost certain.
