Before we turn our attention to Sunday’s AFC Wild Card round clash between the No. 2 seeded Buffalo Bills (11-6) and the No. 7 seeded Pittsburgh Steelers (10-7), today’s edition of Buffalo Rumblinks offers up some final thoughts and observations on how Buffalo was able to rally past the Miami Dolphins to claim another AFC East crown on Sunday Night Football.

Final thoughts on Buffalo’s win vs. Miami

During Buffalo’s stress-inducing 21-14 victory over the Miami Dolphins, Bills fans saw both the bad version of quarterback Josh Allen (three turnovers through the first three quarters including his first red zone interception of the year and squandering a chance to score points at the end of the first half by throwing the ball in bounds) and the good (accounting for 426 total yards of offense, passing for two touchdowns, including a clutch five-yard TD toss to tight end Dawson Knox for the go-ahead score, and breaking off a 15-yard scramble with 3:04 remaining that helped the Bills seal the victory).

Among the other key observations from the game: Allen got wide receivers Khalil Shakir (six catches for 105 yards) and Stefon Diggs (seven grabs for 87 yards), and tight end Dalton Kincaid (seven catches for 84 yards) involved; offensive coordinator Joe Brady successfully spread out the Dolphins by relying on three wide receiver sets; Buffalo’s run defense bounced back from a poor first half to allow only eight second-half rushing yards while the defense forced Miami to punt on four consecutive second-half possessions for the first time this season; the Bills’ depth paid off in a big way in the comeback win—including clutch games from Trent Sherfield, Dane Jackson, and Baylon Spector—and more!
