Buffalo Rumblings Weekend Chat: Weather or not?

What are Bills’ fans thoughts on the snow in the forecast?

Welcome back to our weekend chat, Buffalo Bills fans.

It’s the playoffs! In January around the NFL, there are always some weather games, where Mother Nature impacts the outcome of the game.

Already the Miami Dolphins game against the Kansas City Chiefs has potential to be one of the coldest in NFL history. Kids in Kansas City haven’t been in school since Tuesday and while it was near 30 degrees at the start of Friday, it’s already dipped to 15 on the way to negative territory on Saturday and Sunday. (So much for Buffalo and Green Bay being Siberia!) Their game is on Saturday night, right at the absolute coldest moments.

On Sunday, the Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers are set to play in a snow globe game, with 16 inches of snow expected to fall between Saturday night and Sunday night, but wind gusts up to 40 MPH creating cold, low-visibility conditions.

Sure, a dome would protect the players in both of these cases, but getting to and from the stadium on Sunday won’t be a picnic. Either way, the conditions won’t be great for fans before, during, and after their team’s games.

What are your thoughts on these wintery games? Do you have tips on how to stay warm or a piece of clothing you swear by?

I gotta give it up for my 90s-era puffy Starter jacket. It is incredibly warm and I can layer a ton of stuff under it. I’ve even had to unzip it to avoid sweating at some events. With the legs, I layer long underwear, sweatpants, loose jeans, and then add a water resistant outer layer. I’m a mitten guy, but my wife love handwarmers.

Just a reminder that electric heated seats and vests aren’t allowed inside the stadium.

Do you like watching these cold-weather games? Do you think they should be moved? Forced to build a dome? Hit me with your hot (and cold) takes!

We’re continuing to dust off an old favorite this week as we get further into the 2023 NFL season. We used to run open threads around TV shows like LOST and just general Friday night open threads. Let’s quote the OG Brian Galliford:

Welcome to the weekend, Buffalo Bills fans. We’ve got a couple more days before the Bills take the field, and after a long week, it’s time to blow off a little steam. Use this thread to talk about... well, whatever it is you’d like to talk about. Maybe you’d like to share a cool story from your week. I know I do!
