NFL Super Wild Card Weekend concludes tonight with a primetime showdown between the Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Tonight’s Monday Night Football (MNF) matchup promises to be an exciting one. With the Eagles coming in as the five seed with an 11-6 record and the Buccaneers as the four seed with a 9-8 record, the game has a few story lines that might play into the outcome of this game, but none more than injuries.

Here’s your open thread for tonight’s MNF game, and below you’ll find my thoughts on Eagles-Bucs — including a final score prediction.

Philadelphia Eagles at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 8 p.m. EST (ABC/ESPN)

The Eagles are currently favored at DraftKings Sportsbook with a -3 spread, with the over/under set at 44. The Moneyline stands at -155 for Philadelphia and +130 for Tampa Bay. However, the odds may not tell the whole story, as both teams are facing their fair share of challenges heading into this crucial game.

The Eagles are coming off an embarrassing loss to the New York Giants to end the season, and they have suffered some key injuries to important players. Quarterback Jalen Hurts injured his finger in the last game and entered this matchup as questionable. Wide receiver A.J. Brown also suffered a knee injury and was ruled out for tonight’s game. The loss of safety Sydney Brown to a torn ACL further adds to the challenges Philly will face this evening. Despite their struggles, the Eagles are a team with a Super Bowl appearance just one year ago, and they will undoubtedly be looking to prove themselves once again and make up for their late-season slide.

On the other hand, the Buccaneers have shown resilience throughout the season, with quarterback Baker Mayfield leading the team to a division win. Mayfield has proven his doubters (including myself) wrong and has built a strong connection with wide receiver Mike Evans. The team’s playoff berth was unexpected, as ESPN Analytics had given the Buccaneers just a 13% chance of reaching the playoffs at the start of the year. However, they managed to clinch the NFC South with a hard-fought win, demonstrating their determination and ability to rise to the occasion.

While the Eagles may have the advantage according to the odds, the Buccaneers’ resilience and recent success cannot be disregarded. Despite the challenges they’ve faced, the Buccaneers have shown that they’re capable of overcoming the odds and coming out on top. I still don’t feel right doing this, but I have to root for quarterback Baker Mayfield this week to show up and will his team to a win. The Philadelphia Eagles are on the ropes and have been for a few weeks now, The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have to take advantage of that and take the knockout shot.

I expect the Eagles to put up a strong fight, but I believe that the Buccaneers will ultimately come out on top. The injuries and recent struggles may prove to be too much for Philadelphia to overcome, while Tampa Bay’s determination and recent success will carry them to victory.

Final score prediction: 28-20, Buccaneers over Eagles
