After going three-and-out to start the second half, the Buffalo Bills turned to their defense to help get the momentum back, but on the Pittsburgh Steelers’ first play from scrimmage, Buffalo lost their breakout middle linebacker, who’s since been ruled out for the remainder of tonight’s game.

Linebacker Terrel Bernard chased down a Pittsburgh Steelers receiver but wasn’t able to get off the turf after making the tackle. Eventually the Bills brought a cart and Bernard was taken to the locker room with an air cast on his lower leg.

Buffalo started the game with Bernard and Baylon Spector at linebacker. Spector was starting for the injured Dodson who took Matt Milano’s place after the veteran was lost for the season with a broken leg in Week 5. Spector left the game in the first half with a back injury and was replaced by veteran A.J. Klein who was just brought back to the team on Thursday. With Bernard out and rookie Dorian Williams in the game, Klein took over calling the plays for the defense.

Shortly after leaving the field, the Bills announced that Bernard had been taken in for X-rays of his ankle.
