We’ve finally reached the end of the regular season, Bills Mafia. Thankfully, the Bills have every reason to play their tails off in Week 18. A win on the road against the Miami Dolphins would ensure Buffalo makes the playoffs, and give them the AFC East Division title for the fourth consecutive season. The last time that happened was during the franchise’s heretofore unequaled Super Bowl run.
It’s fair to say that ahead of the 2023 NFL season, most Bills fans would have signed up for the team competing to win the AFC East in Week 18. At the same time, this season has played out very differently than most expected. While every team finds itself facing adversity and often too far to the right of the W-L record, the way Buffalo’s season has played out is best summed up as frustrating.
You’ll find no better evidence of that than by looking at our weekly confidence poll results. It’s been as thrilling a roller coaster ride as any season yet. Thankfully, the last month the team’s found a four-game win streak. Because of that, The Bills will square off against the Dolphins to decide the AFC East. Still, the last two victories against teams out of playoff contention have given many fans pause about Buffalo’s chances as a legitimate postseason force.
Without a ton of clarity on the subject, most have observed the Bills to be a team that plays down to its opponent. If true, that should prove favorable from here on out. Winning in Week 18 will only open the door for bigger challenges, and it’s going to take the best from the Buffalo Bills if they hope to make real noise in January.
So what do you think, Bills Mafia? Are you confident in the direction of the team, days before they’re set to contend for the franchise’s fourth consecutive AFC East crown during the tenure of head coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane?
