Buffalo Bills have elevated RB Leonard Fournette to active roster for Week 18

It remains to be seen how much Fournette will factor into the Bills’ offensive game plan

Ahead of Sunday’s clash for the AFC East against the Miami Dolphins, the Buffalo Bills have elevated running back Leonard Fournette from the practice squad, marking his second call-up of the season. Fournette first joined the Bills on October 31 of the 2023 NFL season.

Considering Fournette was only active against the Los Angeles Chargers because running back Ty Johnson was injured, it’s unknown what role he’ll take on in tonight’s matchup. Perhaps he’ll start splitting snaps with running back Latavius Murray considering Murray’s his recent drops and poor effort in low-yardage situations.

Fournette picked up 20 yards on just five carries against the Chargers two weeks ago. Since interim offensive coordinator Joe Brady took over, Johnson’s role has increased quite a bit so it remains to be seen if there’s much of a path here for Playoff Lenny to produce viable numbers.

However, Fournette brings a wealth of experience as both a runner and receiver out of the backfield. His elevation allows the Bills to explore all options in the ground game depending on how tonight’s matchup shapes out.
