If you're an active part in Mike Williams watch, then take note that the Buffalo Bills receiver is active for tonight's game against the New York Jets in Detroit. Here's the list of the Bills' inactives:
- FB Frank Summers (healthy scratch)
- WR Marquise Goodwin (ankle)
- TE MarQueis Gray (healthy scratch)
- OL Cyrus Kouandjio (healthy scratch)
- DE Jarius Wynn (knee)
- DE Bryan Johnson (healthy scratch)
- LB Randell Johnson (healthy scratch)
Williams seems to only make it into the lineup when there's an injury or two ahead of him on the depth chart, but here's the thing: Goodwin was a full practice participant this week both days the Bills were able to practice, and was listed as probable on the injury report. It's possible that the Bills just think Williams offers more than Goodwin, given that; it's also possible something unexpected happened with Goodwin's ankle. Either way, time will tell how big a part of the game plan Williams is tonight.
Speaking of: it's looking like the Bills are going to be passing a bit, because that's the only sensible game plan against the Jets. Summers is inactive for the first time since late in the 2013 season, so expect a lot of passing tonight, and less emphasis on running for a yard and a half up the middle against the best defensive line in football. (Yeah, I said it.)
Bills-Jets is set to kick off at 7:00 p.m. ET, and we'll have full coverage as usual starting then.
