Sammy Watkins injury: groin issue could play into Bills vs. Chiefs

Fred Jackson was back on the practice field for the Bills on Wednesday, but good vibes from that news were quickly obliterated by news of a potentially serious groin injury for star wideout Sammy Watkins.

Any good vibes brought forth by Fred Jackson returning to Buffalo Bills practice on Wednesday quickly went out the window when head coach Doug Marrone announced that Sammy Watkins left practice early with a groin injury.

Marrone was expectedly vague in making the report - Mike Rodak even quotes him as saying "it's an injury" - so needless to say, whether or not Watkins can practice on Thursday will be of significant interest to fans in Western New York and Missouri.

Please be okay, Mr. Watkins, sir. (For the record, a report surfaced on Wednesday evening, from John Wawrow of the Associated Press, saying that Watkins will, indeed, be okay to play on Sunday.)

As for Jackson, he was a limited participant on Wednesday, and while Marrone would not go out of his way to declare anything official about his availability on Sunday, his prognosis is looking fairly optimistic right now. We'll see if anything changes tomorrow.

Three more players that were injured prior to the team's bye week were back on the practice field today: wide receivers Marquise Goodwin and Marcus Easley, and linebacker Ty Powell.
