C.J. Spiller will, indeed, play for the Buffalo Bills in their important Week 16 showdown with the Oakland Raiders, which means the team once again has a surplus at running back. Bryce Brown, therefore, headlines today's list of inactives.
- RB Bryce Brown (healthy scratch)
- WR Deonte Thompson (healthy scratch)
- TE Chris Gragg (knee)
- OT Cyrus Kouandjio (healthy scratch)
- LB Larry Dean (healthy scratch)
- LB Randell Johnson (healthy scratch)
- CB Ross Cockrell (healthy scratch)
Brown had appeared in each of the Bills' last seven games, but those all came after Spiller's broken clavicle in a October 19 win over Minnesota. Now that Spiller is healthy enough to play, Brown's role in the offense once again becomes obsolete.
The only other notable inactive on this list is reserve linebacker Larry Dean, who has played in 12 straight games after joining the team in Week 13. No Bills player has played more special teams snaps than Dean's 243 so far this season, but the Bills are evidently healthy enough across the board that they're comfortable sitting one of their top teams performers.
Bills-Raiders kicks off at 4:25 p.m. ET.
