Bills vs. Patriots injury report, 2014 NFL Week 17: Marcell Dareus, Stephon Gilmore doubtful

The Buffalo Bills will probably be without two of their best young defenders when they take on Tom Brady and the Patriots in Sunday's regular season finale.

It's sounding like the Buffalo Bills are going to be without two key defenders for Sunday's regular season finale against the New England Patriots.

Because of the holiday work week, the Bills are still holding one more practice on Saturday before heading out to Foxboro, but the NFL still requires official injury designations be sent in on Friday. Pro Bowl defensive tackle Marcell Dareus and improving cornerback Stephon Gilmore have not practiced either day so far this week, and are therefore considered unlikely to play - though something could certainly change over the next 45 hours.

Dareus injured his knee in last weekend's loss to Oakland, and was unable to return to that contest. The same was true of Gilmore later on in the contest; he suffered a concussion after hitting the back of his head on the field while making an open-field tackle. If neither player can play, the likely starters are Stefan Charles on the defensive line and Ron Brooks at cornerback.
