The Buffalo Bills added second-year edge rusher IK Enemkpali to their active roster on Monday, freeing up a roster spot by placing running back Cierre Wood on Injured Reserve.
Enemkpali spent the first four weeks of the season suspended by the league for punching former teammate and New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith in the jaw. He then spent this past week practicing with the Bills while on a one-week exemption; when that exemption ended today, the Bills added him to their 53-man roster.
Wood, according to head coach Rex Ryan, tore his ACL during the Bills' 14-13 win over the Tennessee Titans yesterday. His season-ending injury leaves the Bills with four running backs on the active roster, two of which did not play yesterday (LeSean McCoy and Karlos Williams).
Depending on what happens with McCoy and Williams, the Bills may have to make one more roster move this week to ensure they have three healthy backs for Sunday's important home date with the undefeated Cincinnati Bengals.
