Buffalo Bills re-sign Jordan Gay to handle kickoff duty

The Buffalo Bills have made another roster move, re-signing kickoff specialist Jordan Gay.

The Buffalo Bills are in London but that's not stopping them from making some late-week roster moves. On Friday, they re-signed kickoff specialist Jordan Gay. No corresponding roster move has been announced (though they did say it wouldn't be Percy Harvin).

Gay was released by Buffalo on October 7th following their Week 4 loss to the New York Giants. They signed Billy Cundiff in the interim but released the journeyman a week later. Dan Carpenter handled all the kicking duties a week ago. Neither Carpenter nor Cundiff had the success rate Gay had on kickoffs.

At the time of the roster jockeying, Carpenter was dealing with a knee injury. It's feasible to think the Bills were looking at insurance in signing Cundiff as Gay doesn't have the best track record on those attempts. With Carpenter off the injury report, Gay will get another opportunity to keep a roster spot.

Assuming he dresses and plays, the game in against the Jacksonville Jaguars will be Gay's 21st with the club.
