We already knew of four players that the Buffalo Bills would be playing without during today's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. The team just announced a list of three healthy scratches that round out their list of inactives this afternoon, and one of them is surprising.
- QB Josh Johnson (healthy scratch)
- RB Karlos Williams (shoulder)
- OT Seantrel Henderson (healthy scratch)
- DE Lavar Edwards (healthy scratch)
- LB Nigel Bradham (ankle)
- CB Stephon Gilmore (shoulder)
- CB Ron Brooks (concussion)
Henderson, the nominal starting right tackle, had been listed as probable after practicing all week despite a lingering illness. The team had, however, admitted that he'd likely split playing time with Jordan Mills at right tackle, but now that they've scratched him, Mills will start at right tackle for a second straight week, with Cyrus Kouandjio serving as the swing tackle.
Gilmore and Bradham are the biggest lineup omissions for a Bills defense that has suffered through lulls this season. They'll each be replaced by a combination of players, with veteran defenders Leodis McKelvin and Manny Lawson the biggest playing-time beneficiaries, in all likelihood. Mike Gillislee will also see field time as the replacement for Williams, who will miss the fifth game of his otherwise excellent rookie season.
The Bills and the Eagles kick off at 1:00 p.m. ET from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
