Buffalo Bills' Anthony Lynn a 2016 head coach candidate, per report

New, comments

Buffalo Bills running backs coach (and assistant head coach) Anthony Lynn may be a hot name on the head coaching circuit next month, according to a NFL.com report.

There are always a few head coaching vacancies in the NFL come January, and per a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network made this past weekend, at least one Buffalo Bills assistant coach will be a contender for a head coaching gig next month: running backs coach Anthony Lynn, who has worked under Rex Ryan for the last seven seasons.

Most likely would have guessed that either of the team's coordinators, Greg Roman or Dennis Thurman, would have been named as a potential candidate first, but instead it's Lynn - a former player who also currently holds the title of assistant head coach with the Bills - that's evidently on the circuit.

Lynn may not be the only Bills coach, current or former, that will be on other teams' radar, either: Rapoport also mentioned Doug Marrone as a potential head coaching candidate this winter, as well.
