Bills vs. Cowboys, 2015 NFL Week 16: Matt Cassel benched for Kellen Moore

Once upon a time, that could have been a Bills-centric headline. Alas, it is the Cowboys who will be putting the Boise State product under center this weekend in Orchard Park.

During their loss to the New York Jets this past Saturday night, the Dallas Cowboys benched veteran quarterback Matt Cassel in favor of Kellen Moore. Despite the fact that Moore threw three interceptions in a 19-16 loss, Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett confirmed on Monday morning that Moore will start this Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.

If you were hyping yourself up for a matchup between Cassel, the man who beat him out for the Bills' starting quarterback job (Tyrod Taylor), and the Bills coaches that reportedly would've rather kept Cassel as the backup instead of EJ Manuel (you may recall that the Bills traded Cassel to Dallas before Week 3), you'll need a different angle to find interest in this weekend's Bills-Cowboys tilt.

Moore completed 15-of-25 passes for 158 yards with a touchdown and the aforementioned three picks on Saturday night. That sounds like a win for the Bills on defense, but they also saw the bottom fall out on their defense yesterday, as Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins threw for 319 yards and four touchdowns with no turnovers, and also added a rushing touchdown for good measure. Moore might be in for a career day.
