Per NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, soon-to-be-former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Marquise Goodwin will sign with the San Francisco 49ers when free agency officially opens tomorrow.
Goodwin, 26, was a third-round pick by the Bills in 2013. The track star always made defenses account for his speed when he was on the field, but never really translated that into a run as a quality receiver. He also dealt with injuries for most of his career, averaging under ten games per season over his four years in Buffalo
Goodwin finishes his Bills career with 49 receptions for 780 yards and six touchdowns in 39 games. He had the best season of his career in 2016, appeared in 15 games, made 9 starts, and caught 29 balls for 431 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Earlier Wednesday, it was reported that the Washington Redskins were also interested in Goodwin with the hopes he could replace DeSean Jackson. As Goodwin said today, “Let that money talk.”
