With the second pick in the 2016 Buffalo Rumblings Community Mock, the Cleveland Browns (represented by Good Apollo) have selected Carson Wentz, quarterback from North Dakota State. Here's what he had to say about the pick:
I prefer the BPA approach, and it would be easy to justify with the Browns, who need help at just about every position. That said, when you believe you have found your franchise QB, you take him, and I truly believe Wentz will be the most successful QB from this draft. He's big, strong, and knows what it takes to win. I was very impressed with his combine throws, as well as his highlight tape from NDSU.
One could argue taking Goff here, and I can absolutely see that for some. I just don't fully trust Goff to be the guy. I originally wanted to take Jalen Ramsey (he's #1 on my board), but I'm listening to my new HC and drafting the guy he feels he can groom into the franchise QB Cleveland has been looking for since their unholy resurrection.
RGIII will start the season while Wentz learns under the tutelage of Jackson and pushes Griffin to play to his potential. Jackson will groom Wentz into a Flacco-type who will be ready to challenge for the starting QB spot after his rookie season, and the Browns will be looking to make a run at the playoffs by the start of the 2018 season.
The San Diego Chargers are now on the clock. Remember, when it's your turn to submit a draft choice, email it to dan.r.lavoie+sbnation@gmail.com.
