There was mostly good news on Thursday's injury report, Bills fans.

The Buffalo Bills are getting some good news with the bad on the injury front. With their second practice this week in anticipation of hosting the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, they got a key member of their defensive line back after he sat out practice yesterday.

Kyle Williams, who sat out Wednesday's practice as well as two days of workouts last week, was back on the field Thursday taking reps at defensive tackle. One can only wonder if he was getting any more plays at fullback like he did in Buffalo's goal line package in Arizona. He's been dealing with an ankle injury for a few weeks but it has yet to cost him any playing time. Also returning to the practice field was safety Da'Norris Searcy, who was also dealing with an ankle injury. Defensive lineman Spencer Johnson practiced for the second straight day.

On the negative side, cornerback Terrence McGee missed his second straight day of practice as he's been struggling to recover from knee surgery. It has limited his snap count dramatically during the season but he played extensively against the Cardinals. He said after practice that he would practice on Friday and play Sunday and these were just days off for rest.

Also of note was right guard Kraig Urbik's absence after practicing on a limited basis on Wednesday. It was hoped that he might be able to return in some capacity for this weekend's game but he was ruled out following practice by head coach Chan Gailey. Others not practicing were offensive tackle Cordy Glenn and defensive end Mark Anderson. Glenn, like Urbik, is expected back after the bye week while Anderson is out indefinitely.

Kyle Williams was among the Buffalo Bills plays who did not practice Wednesday but several others practiced for the first time in a while.

Several member of the Buffalo Bills were on the shelf for Wednesday's practice as the team begins their preparation for the Tennessee Titans. It wasn't all bad news as several long-term injured players returned to the field.

The headliner was Kyle Williams, who sat on both Wednesday and Thursday a week ago. Despite an ankle injury, Williams was very active against the Arizona Cardinals so this move is likely precautionary. Also on the sideline was cornerback Terrence McGee, who is still working his way to 100% but it's fair to wonder if he ever will. Safety Da'Norris Searcy (ankle) and defensive end Mark Anderson (knee) also did not practice.

Head coach Chan Gailey ruled tackle Cordy Glenn out for this weekend saying he had a good chance of playing against the Houston Texans after the bye.

On the positive side, the Bills got cornerback Ron Brooks back. Brooks, Buffalo's fourth round pick in 2012, hurt his foot in training camp and was placed on Injured Reserve after having foot surgery on September 1st. He was designated to return and this was the earliest he could practice. He can't be placed back on the active roster until October 31st.

Also returning to practice were offensive guard Kraig Urbik and defensive tackle Spencer Johnson. Both were limited but have a chance to play against the Titans. Defensive end Shawne Merriman also practiced for the first time since being re-signed on Monday.

The Bills called up OL David Snow and DT Jay Ross from the team's practice squad.

The Buffalo Bills - dealing with ten players on their injury report - have called up two members of their practice squad to the active roster to solidify their numbers heading into their game Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.

On the offensive line, the team signed center/guard David Snow. The Bills lost backup guard Colin Brown to an injury last Sunday while starting right guard Kraig Urbik has been out for two weeks. His back-up, Chad Rinehart, has himself been dealing with a tender hamstring. The team also signed veteran guard Reggie Wells this week, but his inexperience in the system was likely seen as a liability and will be inactive Sunday with Snow making the game day roster. Center Eric Wood is also listed as questionable.

On the defensive line, tackle Jay Ross is the newest member of the squad as fellow tackle Spencer Johnson and defensive end Mark Anderson have been sidelined with injuries. Kyle Williams was limited all week and is listed as questionable and didn't practice until Friday which likely necessitated the move for Ross.

This is the first time on an NFL active roster for both. Snow was signed as an undrafted free agent in May while Ross spent part of last season on the Packers' and Bills' taxi squads. To make the two moves, Buffalo cut running back Johnny White now that C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson are closer to full health and UDFA safety Delano Howell.

The Buffalo Bills listed 10 players on the injury report for Week 6 against Arizona. Four are out (three starters), two will play (Mario Williams and Aaron Williams), and four projected starters are questionable.

A whopping ten members of the Buffalo Bills are listed on the Week 6 injury report for Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals, but the good news is that six of those ten are expected to play.

That group of six players includes four that were listed as questionable on Friday: right guard Chad Rinehart, center Eric Wood, defensive tackle Kyle Williams and free safety Jairus Byrd. Wood and Byrd practiced all week, but Williams didn't get onto the field until Friday while Rinehart got the last day of the week off for rest. Still, head coach Chan Gailey seemed reasonably assured that all four would be available on Sunday.

Also likely to play are two players listed as probable: defensive end Mario Williams and cornerback Aaron Williams.

That leaves four players listed as out, and the names will not surprise you: left tackle Cordy Glenn, right guard Kraig Urbik, defensive end Mark Anderson and defensive tackle Spencer Johnson. Of that group, Glenn, Urbik and Johnson could be close to returning - perhaps as soon as next week, but not too far beyond that if not - while Anderson was given a 3-9 week timetable by Gailey on Friday.

After missing practice on both Wednesday and Thursday dealing with the effects of an ankle injury, Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Kyle Williams is back on the practice field today (Friday).

Williams was held out of practice on Wednesday and given a rest day on Thursday, but on both occasions, head coach Chan Gailey insisted that the seventh-year defensive tackle would be ready to play in Sunday's Week 6 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals. Provided something crazy doesn't happen on the practice field this afternoon - and given how cautious the Bills have been with Williams all week, that seems unlikely - it seems probable at this point that Williams will suit up.

We'll know a bit later on this afternoon what Williams' official injury report designation is (we're betting on questionable), but with his chances looking better, Bills fans can breathe a sigh of relief and put the notion of a starting lineup featuring a banged-up Marcell Dareus and Alex Carrington out of their noggins.

For a second straight day, Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Kyle Williams did not participate in practice as the team prepares for their Week 6 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals. Though head coach Chan Gailey remains optimistic that Williams will be okay to play on Sunday, it's never a good sign when a player misses two days of practice.

Even if Williams does play on Sunday - and there's good reason to be skeptical of that notion - it seems likely that he won't be at 100 percent. Neither will Marcell Dareus, who like Williams has been dealing with an ankle injury for a number of weeks. Spencer Johnson - who, you guessed it, has an ankle injury - did not make the trip out west with his teammates.

Folks, the run defense that has given up 558 rushing yards in the last two weeks may play on Sunday with only one completely healthy defensive tackle: Alex Carrington. Here's hoping that Williams is a viable option despite his ankle ding, and that Dareus will break out of his mini-slump this weekend.

The Buffalo Bills have begun their week of preparations for this Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals out at Arizona State University, and they're doing so with a banged up roster.

We've been talking all week about how banged up the Buffalo Bills are, and you can add two more names to the growing list of players with ailments: defensive tackle Kyle Williams and center Eric Wood.

Williams did not practice on Wednesday, sitting out due to an ankle injury. He is expected to practice Thursday and play on Sunday, but given the fact that the Bills will already be without Mark Anderson and Spencer Johnson this weekend - not to mention that Mario Williams and Marcell Dareus have been dinged at various points in the season, as well - this news is certainly concerning.

Wood, meanwhile, did practice yesterday, but was a limited participant with a foot injury. Again, he's expected to play on Sunday, but with the line around him seemingly falling to pieces, any injury news on Wood is unsettling.

Joining Williams on the sidelines were four players that are already ruled out for Sunday, for all intents and purposes: Anderson and Johnson on the defensive line, and Cordy Glenn and Kraig Urbik on the offensive line. Jairus Byrd, who is listed with a chest injury but may also still have a hip issue, was a limited participant Wednesday.

The other two Williamses - Mario and cornerback Aaron Williams - were on the injury report yesterday, as well, the end with a wrist injury and the corner with a hand ailment. Both were full participants, and may end up being removed from the injury report altogether in the coming days.

Buffalo Bills defensive end Mark Anderson is out indefinitely with a knee injury, meaning that the team has just three healthy pass rushers on the roster.

Buffalo Bills defensive end Mark Anderson is out indefinitely with a knee injury sustained in Sunday's 45-3 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, and it doesn't sound promising that he'll be back any time soon.

Anderson, according to Bills GM Buddy Nix, is scheduled to meet (or has already met) with popular athletic orthopedist Dr. James Andrews regarding the injury, indicating that the issue could be significant. Nix told BuffaloBills.com that the injury will not end Anderson's season, but for the foreseeable future, at least, it looks like the Bills will be rolling with three defensive ends.

Those ends, of course, are Mario Williams, Chris Kelsay and Kyle Moore. Now would be a great time for Williams, the highest-paid defender in NFL history, to break out of his early-season funk. Expect to see him rotate between left and right end - which he did quite a bit in San Francisco - while Kelsay and Moore platoon on the other side. Kelsay will start in lieu of Anderson and will get the majority of first-team reps.

Coupled with the fact that defensive tackle Spencer Johnson - dealing with a high ankle sprain - did not travel out west with the team, it's looking very possible that the team will enter their Week 6 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals with just six healthy defensive linemen. That does not bode well for a run defense that has given up 558 rushing yards in their last two games, regardless of how poor Arizona's running game is (73 yards in the same time frame).
