After pinging the Buffalo Rumblings community for their approval or disapproval on Buffalo Bills GM Buddy Nix and head coach Doug Marrone over the last couple of weeks, we'll complete the trifecta with this morning's approval poll for President/CEO Russ Brandon. We haven't done this since just after the Super Bowl, so there's a lot to cover. Here we go:
- Helped to orchestrate a massive makeover at the quarterback position, highlighted by the release of Ryan Fitzpatrick, the signing of Kevin Kolb and, most notably, the first-round selection of EJ Manuel. How involved was Brandon in that process? We can't know for sure, but this article might give us a few clues.
- He has repeatedly denied that there is any timetable - let alone one that could be labeled as "soon" - on the pending GM transition from Nix to Assistant GM Doug Whaley. Even still, we know that's coming, particularly since Whaley received a contract extension back in February. Then, you know, there's the whole Nix actually did step down thing.
- The continuing contract issue with franchise tagged safety Jairus Byrd is something that Brandon addressed after the 2013 NFL Draft.
The poll is below and the comments section is yours. What does everyone think of the direction of the team and the events of the off-season under Brandon's leadership?
